Colman Domingo is the star of the first screen adaptation of the famed African American author Ralph Ellison's short story "King of the Bingo Game" for PBS/American Storytellers. He has been seen in the films True Crime, Desi's Looking for a Girl, Dr. Doolittle, and Fearless. He has been seen on televisions Nash Bridges as Deputy Sherriff Harrell, Hassam the money launderer, and recently as Desmond Kenner the kidnapper, murderer, and well dressed thug. His commercial list include national and international campaigns for Pepsi 2001(Japan), Citibank, California
Lottery and Sears. Colman has performed at the some of the top regional theaters in the country including the Tony award winning Berkeley Repertory Theare, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, The Huntington Theater Company, San Jose Rep, The Magic Theater and TheaterWorks. He has been the recipient of a Dean Goodman Dramalogue Award, Bay Area Theater Critics Circle nomination, Bay Guardian Upstage Downstage Award, and noted in San Francisco Metropolitan magazines 99 People to watch in 1999. He is a critically acclaimed stage director and playwright. His first play Up Jumped Springtime received the San Francisco Examiner mention as one of the Best Plays of 1998 and the Bay Guardian Upstage Downstage Award. He is a graduate of Temple University and the Walnut Street Repertory Theater School.
